I see so many entrepreneurs (online entrepreneurs to be specific) spinning their wheels to get a successful project going.
They jump from one strategy to the next. From one system/course to the next.
Many of these info products have great information that can help entrepreneurs become successful. But so few people actually USE the information contained within.
Here is my simple solution to the problem:

As usual Justin a great video full of common sense, which we know is not that common (yup it’s a cliche!)
keep up the good work

Thanks Richard. Isn’t it funny that the lessons that seem like such “common sense” are often right under our nose… yet our need to make things complex blinds us?
I think the thing is that our minds often think that it can’t be that easy, there has to be more to it, so we make it more complex. But also with IM there’s the shiny object syndrome. Or perhaps the Goldfish Syndrome, lol 3 second memory
how many people buy “stuff” and never use it!

Hey Gisselle,
Thanks for commenting and I’m glad to hear this content was useful and timely for you
Hope to see you back again on the blog!
Hi Justin,
I shudder to think about the time that I have wasted in learning new and exciting things that I already knew. It seems that whenever it’s time to take positive action that could lead to me making some of this monee (I think that’s how you spell it)stuff, that there always something really interesting that I have to read up on. Whether I like it or not this will be the year that I surprise myself and take action
Have fun,
Mike
Hey Michael,
LOL!!
The good news is you are NOT alone. I’ve done it and pretty much everyone I know has done it. Try linking as much pain as possible to the “putting it off” actions and reward yourself for action. Then you get momentum and can become unstoppable!
Hey Justin,
As usual, excellent advice! Information overload, in my opinion, is the biggest killer of people’s internet marketing dreams.
So many people, myself included, start out in IM thinking that they need to learn all the newest and greatest tactics and marketing strategies. When, in fact, the opposite is almost always true.
Finding one strategy and mastering it will generate more sales than learning every new tactic, everytime!
Of course, like most people, I had to learn this the hard way.
Ask any successful person how many times they have failed in their lives and, if they are honest, I am sure they will say more times than they have been successful. “If you don’t try, how will you know.”
Thanks for sharing Justin!
PS. Richard, I couldn’t agree more, common sense is getting harder and harder to find these days. Maybe it should be called “Un-Common Sense”.

Hey Ian,
GREAT comment thanks very much for sharing. I know I’ve certainly experienced way more failures than successes but as you say, the success you DO get often turn out to be an indicator of where you need to focus.
thanks
Justin
Great video Justin…
My biggest problem is chasing after every shiny new thing that sounds like it will create an online winner.
Thanks!
Hey Jimmy,
Thanks for the comment. It is definitely seductive and some of the “objects” are of great value… but ONLY if you are in a position to implement them immediately!
thanks
Justin
Justin,
What a great video! You’re reading my mind again. My inbox is a minefield full of bright shiny objects–and a lot of them truly are useful, wonderful products….which are keeping me from getting with my main goal.
I’ve come up with a tactic that I hope will work for me, though. 1. I know the things I want to accomplish. 2. I’ve assembled all the tools I need to do the job. 3. I’ll make a step-by-step plan to get the jobs done 4. No more BSO’s until I reach my goals….maybe one here and there at milestones along the way….
Thanks, Justin. You hit the nail with a direct hit!
Diane
Hey Diane,
Thanks for the comment, glad you liked the vid. Your plan sounds perfect. The only thing I would add is some form of accountability to ensure that this plan isn’t deviated from. Our habits are 1000s of times stronger than to-do lists
Hi Justin.. This is definitely timely post.. I guess you are indeed an inspiration to people..

Justin… I’m in total agreement with that video. And I’m guilty of a hard drive full of stuff to get round too… That has reached a depressing level!!!
Hey Sean,
Haha well you are not alone. What are you going to do to change it so you can get the results you REALLY want??
Justin,
Thanks for the motivational message!
Unfortunately, I have a second hard drive completely filled with stuff that I just HAD to have. Obviously, I too have been afflicted with shiny object syndrome.
One of the things that has kept me from moving forward as much as I would like is my reluctance to forget about all of the money I’ve spent on these products. While working on a product I have a hard time ridding myself of the feeling that, since I spent XXX bucks on something, I have an obligation to try to fit that idea into my plan. As a result, I find myself trying to develop a plan that integrates eight different techniques with six different plugins that draw traffic from eighteen different types of sites.
I feel it’s related to the gambler’s need to chase losses with “one more big bet” to get “healthy” again.
Instead, I need to force myself to cut my losses and concentrate on “baby steps” – i.e. one simple task/project at a time.
