How Badly Do You Want To Succeed?

I have a new success routine that has been improving my life SO quickly and taking me to new levels faster than I have ever experienced before.

It all started a couple of months ago when I started waking up every day at 4am.

Sunday is the only day I sleep in.

The rest of the week I have committed to giving 100% of myself to my self, my business and my family. I have pretty much given up any vice, any form of negative thought or behavior that has been holding me back.

I’ve never been happier, more confident and more motivated.

A couple of my secret tools

1. I watch this video every morning just after 4am

2. I spend 1-2 hours reading, watching, listening to personal development and/or business development programs and APPLYING it as the day goes on.

3. I go for a power walk for about 45 minutes after my study session and listen, on repeat, to an audio track of my own voice affirming all of my goals, intentions, and self confidence triggers.

4. Everyone else wakes up at this point and I continue my day already in FULL swing.

I am doing all of this because I realize that long term success in life and as entrepreneur requires a life long commitment to being excellent at what you do. And while I have a long way to go in many areas, very few people can match my work ethic. And this makes me feel great about myself.

I hope this post inspires you to commit to a new level of excellence in your life.

Update. LOL I had the wrong video embedded originally. The correct video is above now

Sleep in on Sundays!! No Days OFF Justin! lol

But thanks for the insight.. actually one of my close friends has also started getting up at 4am. I’d like to try it too. I hear the best way to start is just commit to 30 days. If you don’t like it after 30 days, you can stop. Must have to give it a try.

    Cheers,
    Stuart

      Hey Stuart,

Lol funny thing is I had the wrong video but I ALSO loved the no days off video as well :)

I highly recommend this type of routine. The early morning stillness has a very cool vibe that can get you very motivated

Good post, Justin. I watched both videos and obviously Giovanni Ruffin is a focused individual. What vices have you given up? TV and sugar are the biggest challenges for me to overcome.

      Hey Wayne,

Giovanni is awesome and the speaker in the background Eric Thomas is one of my all time favorite motivators. Check out “Thank God Its Monday” on youtube. Phenomenal.

Vices?? Like most people I have many but drinking a few nights a week was definitely holding me back. Not saying I won’t have some drinks now and then during some down time but I have cut way back and put a renewed focus on my health and mindset fitness.

    Hi Justin,

I can confirm that waking up early (around 5am) to do tasks work “in the quietness of the world” works better for me than doing it late at night. I used to be believe I think and focus better at night, but staying late drains me of energy later in the afternoon.

      Hey Gerry

Exact same here dude. I was up late for years and my late night work was not always productive.

Now that I do early mornings, I DEFINITELY agree that early morning work is WAYYYYYYYYYY better than late night grinding.

Late night grinding is the best :) ….But I do agree that you get more done early mornings.

BTW: If you’re married and have kids, late nights will be the only grinding time you get!

All in humor, with a touch of reality ;)

Waking up early at 4am is a wonderful opportunity to talk to God on your knees by committing everything into His hands for the day.

Thereafter, you can begin to do some other necessaries required to move you to your goals in life.

In all, i think it is a good thing to cut down the number of hours we commit to sleep and work the more.

    Good post, Justin.

    Hi Justin

Working late and sleeping late as a result is like “all day jet lag”

Reading some good motivational stuff first thing is a great boost for me. (David Allen, Brian Tracy)

This gets me in the right frame of mind so that everything begins to flow.

Walking realy early in the fresh Scottish air gives me energy and I come alive with the new day.

I’m lucky to live outside of the city where it’s still green.

It feels like being in tune.

    All the best

      Hey Ian

Very cool. I also live an hour north of the big city so my early morning outings are very similar. There is a certain atmosphere that you can never find at any other time. Love it

Thanks for taking the time to post this – I’m in the middle of studying Psycho cybernetic’s and creating my own early morning empowering routine, some of which is very similar to yours, so great to here its working for you! Knowing what routines successful entrepreneurs implement daily is always very interesting and inspiring.

      Hey D,

Psycho Cybernetics is one of my all time fav books. I plan on going through the entire program again this summer. POWERFUL.

What have you learned and what changes have you noticed so far?

    Hey Justin,
Just come across your website via Brad.
You’ve got some great inspirational stuff going on there. I too have ” how much do you want it ” on my ipod and I listen to it everyday. I recently lost my 20 yr old son and found it hard to get going again.
I thought I was an inspiration and I think it’s time to listen to other people as well. I like your site, and i’m going to drop in from time to time because I like what you are doing. I hear my son every day beating down on my head telling me to do it, and it’s only something that I can do when i’m ready.
So if you find anymore inspirational stuff out there put it up, as I will soon, and lets start to inspire more people to enjoy what they can from this short spell of time we call life.
P.S. I did tend to do things the other way round and go to bed as you are getting up. I must give your way a try. I’ll let you know. Keep up the good work.
    Kind regards

    John Wright – Manchester UK.

      Hey John,

Wow. Your story is very moving and I’m glad you are sharing it. Very often I talk to people who are feeling weak and feeling sorry for themselves… but they aren’t truly facing REAL adversity in their lives.

I would like to learn more about your story. Let me know if you have a site or blog… or if you would like to share more on an interview, I would love to do a feature.

      Thanks
      Justin

This is just what I needed. We had our first child (a son) three weeks ago and as you probably know, the schedule can get grueling.

Add to this that I left my full time job just before he was born with the intention of going full time with client work and product creation, but haven’t felt able to focus on ANYTHING.

I was just having a conversation with my wife about my desperation to focus on these things and she said, “just do it”.

So, the question I have to ask myself is this… “How bad do I want it?”

Good on you for spreading the positivity and inspiring us:)

      Hey Adam,

First of all… congrats on the little one. Fun times ahead. But also tiring times. I’ve been there twice now and it can be a huge test of persistence.

I highly recommend practicing various “state change” techniques as Tony Robbins would say. But seriously, study your own physiology and determine what kind of thinking AND bodily movement creates your best emotional states. Then you can recreate the positive energy whenever you need it… ESPECIALLY if you are tired.

    Justin,

Thanks for the inspiration and motivation my friend.

These kind of ideas have been heavy on my mind recently, and I have been cutting my sleep shorter.

I always feel more alive and energized when I am motivated to press forward with positive action.

I once met an older gentleman at McDonald’s who started conversing with me and he told me he has never slept more than an hour a day. I swear this man had more energy than anyone I have ever known, so I have wondered since, do we really need 6-8 hours of sleep like we are told?

Anyway my friend, much love and success to you and yours,

    Doc

      Hey Doc,

Glad you liked it. Wow that’s a crazy story about the older dude who sleeps 1 hour a night. I’ve had arguments with tons of people who insist we need 7 or more hours of sleep per night.

I have averaged 5 (or less) hours for the past 5 years and I feel terrrific. I’m also in the best shape of my life.

I think it ALL comes down to beliefs

    Hi Justin

Great motivational video I have added it to my favorites, and already have watched it numerous times. Everyone who wants to succeed in any kind of work should now they have to put in a lot of effort to achieve their goals. I am working 14 hours a day on my own schedule, and I can see the results from having that routine in my work. This motivates me even more to take my business to the next level. I throughly believe it is good to set yourself goals to achieve in a certain amount of time. Once you’ve reached them set new ones and Enjoy Live!

    To everyones success
